COUNCIL DIRECTIVE 93/13/EEC of 5 April 1993 on unfair terms in consumer contracts ANNEX TERMS REFERRED TO IN ARTICLE 3 (3) · European Union

Member States may adopt or retain the most stringent provisions compatible with the Treaty in the area covered by this Directive, to ensure a maximum degree of protection for the consumer.
