REGULATION (EU) 2017/1001 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 14 June 2017 on the European Union trade mark (codification) (Text with EEA relevance) · European Union

The Executive Director may grant an exemption from: the requirement in the second sentence of paragraph 2(c), if the applicant furnishes proof that he has acquired the requisite qualification in another way; the requirement set out in paragraph 2(a) in the case of highly qualified professionals, provided that the requirements set out in paragraph 2(b) and (c) are fulfilled.
